Findere (middle English) - (a) One who finds (a lost object); (b) one who attains to knowledge;(c) One who invents, originates, or introduces (an art, craft, science, fashion, or way of living).

Findere is a design studio based in London, founded by maker and designer Henry Farrant. Inspired by the Mingei movement – a philosophy that values the inherent beauty in the ordinary with an emphasis on the importance of craftsmanship and the cultural significance of folk crafts – Findere strives to encapsulate and honour the legacy of those who have dedicated their lives to creating functional art.

By utilising dying crafts and techniques, Findere aims to preserve and revive these traditions. Our designs pay homage to the artisans of the past and bring a sense of history and character to modern spaces. We are committed to creating pieces that resonate with the soul; transforming homes into unique environments that reflect the stories and passions of the people who inhabit them.

Each design is designed, fabricated and shipped from our workshop in London, ensuring that every piece is handmade and unique, while being finished to an exceptional level of detail. We prioritise the use of recycled, reclaimed and renewable materials wherever we can; our oak and birch dyes are sustainably sourced from naturally deceased trees.
